Tajikistan: Regional TB Hospital Handover

Official handover ceremonies for the regional tuberculosis (TB) hospital in Digmoj, Sugd oblast, took place at the end of September. With funding from the German Government through the German Development Bank KfW and the Tuberculosis Control Programme Phase IV, the regional TB hospital was officially handed over by the Tajik President, Mr Emomalii Rahmon. Liberia: Health Sector Operational Planning Meetings

EPOS team members supported the Ministry of Health in a recent health sector operational planning exercise in the context of the European Union-funded ‘Technical Assistance to Support the Implementation of the National Health Plan and the Roadmap for the Reduction of Maternal Mortality’ project which aims to improve access to and the quality of the essential package of health services, including obstetric care.

Tajikistan: Highest Evaluation Ratings for TB Control Projects

KfW-funded Tuberculosis (TB) Control Projects, which EPOS provided technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and Social Protection in Tajikistan for implementation, have received the highest ranking of success in a recent post-project evaluation. Taking into account the  ‘relevance, effectiveness, efficiency and overarching developmental impact’ of project measures, the evaluation highlighted the positive impact projects have had on ‘rationalizing and boosting the efficiency of TB treatment’ in Tajikistan. Yemen: Technical Assistance Programme Extended

The European Union-funded Stewardship Technical Assistance Programme has been extended for another year. Over the past 12 months of internal instability, our expert teams have continued assistance to the Ministry of Health with the delivery of emergency medicines and in training responders and health volunteers.
The programme is re-directing support to the Ministry for post-conflict health system reconstruction. Strategic planning courses for the top and middle level management are being resumed along with report writing and other capacity strengthening interventions.

Vietnam: EU Health Facility Website Offers Latest News

View latest activities and achievements of the European Union-funded 'EU Health Facility' project in Vietnam. The EU Health Facility was established by the European Union Delegation to Socialist Republic of Vietnam in March 2015 as a part of the actions agreed with the Government of Vietnam within the framework of the EU Health Sector Policy Support Programme phase 2.

Its major objective is to support the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Finance in Vietnam for implementation of the measures foreseen in the Financing Agreement. View the website
