Kyrgyzstan: EMS Equipment for Ambulance Stations

New radio communications equipment for emergency medical services was presented in Bishkek on April 27, 2012 in a ceremony which included the German Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan and the Kyrgyzstan Minister of Health.

The new equipment, consisting of navigation systems for ambulances and two-way radio communication systems to reduce the time between receipt of an emergency call and the arrival of an ambulance, is a key element of the "Strengthening Emergency Medical Services" project being implemented in collaboration with the World Health Organization.

Funded by KfW and implemented through international and local companies, the project aims to improve the quality of and accessibility to emergency care through the procurement of equipment and provision of accompanying measures.
