The EU has developed a strong relationship with the Pacific Region, marked by a determination to work together to face critical global challenges, from the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to alleviating adverse effects of climate change.
 
Pacific Island Countries and Territories are caretakers of a sizeable part of the planet and its natural resources, including the Pacific Ocean, and share with the EU concerns about sustainable development, climate change and biodiversity loss. The EU is committed to support Pacific partners in addressing these issues.
