Dr. Robert Gaertner

Managing Director

 

Dr. Robert Gaertner has been the Managing Director of EPOS since 1994. A cum laude medicine graduate of Catholic University of Louvain, he also holds a Masters of Public Health from John's Hopkins University. Dr. Gaertner has worked extensively in the health care sector worldwide with particular expertise in health sector reform and financing, health facilities and services, primary health care projects, project design and implementation and other health service planning and evaluation procedures.

 

Prior to joining EPOS, Dr. Gaertner was the Zonal Medical Officer in Nigeria with the World Health Organisation for Primary Health Care in Bauchi and Enugu (1988 – 1989), with specific emphasis on immunisation and cold chain improvement. He has also been a Coordinator for the EU, for the Improvement of Primary Health Care project in the Southern states in Nigeria.
