EPOS Health Management celebrated its 25th Anniversary on 30 September 2010. More than 200 guests, including local and international donors, clients, partners, experts and friends, gathered in Bad Homburg, Germany, to mark the corporate milestone. Activities spotlighted the driving force behind EPOS’ success – strategic relationships forged through a common objective for better world health.

Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) Debate

A technical debate examining how best to impact achievement of health-related Millennium Development goals highlighted the EPOS Anniversary event on 30 September 2010. Distinguished development leaders discussed shortcomings and called for a truly integrated approach within the health sector. A critical mix of crucial elements -- including good governance, output-based aid structures, monitoring, evaluation, accreditation, and licensing -- was seen as the way forward.

EPOS 25th Anniversary Postgraduate Scholarship

To coincide with EPOS’ 25th Anniversary, an EPOS Postgraduate Public Health Scholarship was offered in 2010. The scholarship award marked EPOS’ commitment to development cooperation aiming to contribute to the long term capacity building and sustainability of public health systems in developing countries.

 

The scholarship targeted support for a young professional from a developing country with at least 4 years certified work experience in public and/or private health services to undertake a Master degree programme in Public Health / Management of Health Systems / Management of Health Facilities and Services in Europe.

Following a formal application and selection process, the EPOS Postgraduate Public Health Scholarship was awarded to Mr. Célestin Karamira, a Rwanda national.
